Richard Gale Stickney's Obituary
Richard Gale Stickney, age 88, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2023. He was born September 14, 1934 in Ravenna to Lloyd and Vivian (Wyant) Stickney. Richard graduated from Ravenna High School in 1952 and following graduation enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving from 1954 until 1956. On April 28, 1962, he married Shirley E. Niva and spent the next 60+ years happily married. Shirley preceded him in death on July 21, 2022. He worked several years for Grand Rapids Heat Treat prior to his retirement from Grand Transformers of Grand Haven. He enjoyed boating in Lake Michigan and camping in the Upper Peninsula. SURVIVORS include his brother-in-law, Glen Niva and nephew, Michael (Annette Aldridge) Niva. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Lloyd, Jim, Robert, and Gene; and sisters: Virginia, Barbara, Doris, Donna, and MaryLou. SERVICES for Richard will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at The Ravenna Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 3570 Thomas St., Ravenna, MI 49451 (231) 853-6511 with Pastor Dave Selleck officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Moorland Twp. Cemetery. MEMORIALS to The Parkinson’s Foundation will be appreciated.
