Richard "Dick" Tuttle's Obituary
Richard “Dick” Tuttle, age 78, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at home. He was born September 23, 1939, in Grand Rapids to Carroll Everett and Gladys Lucille (Lamphear) Tuttle, and married Darlene Grooters on May 18, 1963.
Dick graduated from Ferris Institute College of Pharmacy and worked as a registered pharmacist for 55 years. He worked at Casemier Pharmacy early in his career, and later co-owned and operated Dykstra Pharmacy in Holland. He was a member of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church, and a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, N.R.A. Whitetails Unlimited, and North American Hunting Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, but most of all spending time with his family.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Darlene Tuttle of Spring Lake; daughter, Dawn Lee of Grand Haven; three sons: Rick (Kimberly) Tuttle of Many, LA, R. Scott (Ammie) Tuttle of Muskegon, and Rob (Peggy) Tuttle of Grand Haven; his mother, Gladys Tuttle of Grand Rapids; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Lobbezoo of Sparta, and Cathie (Tom) VerHage of Kentwood; two brothers, David (Donna) Tuttle of Traverse City, and Donald (Jenni) Tuttle of Lowell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Tuttle.
A memorial service for Dick will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018, at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family after the service at church. Memorial contributions to Spring Lake Presbyterian Church or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
