Richard Williams' Obituary
Richard Earl Williams, age 79, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019. He was born on March 2, 1940 to Edward and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Dailey) Williams in Columbus, Mississippi. As a child he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Richard grew up in Muskegon Heights known to his friends as "Dirk" and later attended Muskegon Community College where he studied to be a Technician and also played Basketball. After college Richard was drafted and proudly served in the United States Army. Soon after returning from the US Army Richard gained employment as a Service Technician at Sears Roebuck, retiring after 40 years of service. Richard met soulmate Rosie in school, as life was between them, they reunited many years later and had two children: Elizabeth & Richard Jr. He played a major role to all of Rosie's children and grandchildren, 3 grandkids were adopted Desirae, Dequez, and Charvez. Richard gave his life to the Lord completely and began teaching Sunday School and ran the camcorder for TV ministry at Morning Star Baptist Church in until late '90's. Richard later joined Friendship Baptist Church and served as a Deacon where he also did TV ministry, started a Bible Ministry of several religious books in the lower level of the church until becoming a full time caregiver for his mother. Richard was a loving, devoted, inspirational, generous husband, father, and grandfather who treated everyone fair enjoyed his family, making carrot cakes and trail mix, eating fish, teaching at Brotherhood meetings, fishing, repairing things, spreading the "Word", watching football, baseball, and basketball, playing pool with Dequez, getting snacks for the grandkids, taking them to estate sales, the Dollar Tree and Golden Corral after church. He is survived by his wife, Rosie Williams; children, Elizabeth Williams, Richard Williams, Jr., Desirae Smith-Williams, Dequez Williams, Charvez Williams, Cheryl Clark, Gerald (Linda) Clark Sr., Demetria Clark, Felix (Wendy) Clark Sr., Rachael Clark, William Clark, Jr.; 35+grandchildren and 40+great grandchildren; his brother Edward (Adartha) Williams of Columbus, MS; sisters Annie (Jim) Austin of G.R. Michigan, Doris Hill of Waldorf, Maryland, Sharon Williams, Mary Williams, Elaine Williams and Terry Tinley all of New Jersey; a childhood friend Ronnie (Patrizia) Jones of Italy; special, loving child who came into their lives, Rinetta Burton-Thompson; and many nieces, nephews and their families. Proceeded in death by his mother Lizzie; dad- Henderson 'Paw Dad' Dailey; and father, Edward; niece Sherry Austin-Anderson; great-granddaughter Jasmine Fox. VISITATION with Richard’s family will take place on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441, A FUNERAL SERVICE for Richard will take place on Saturday, December, 7, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church (2428 Ray St.) at 11:00 AM.
