Richard "Bill" Brown's Obituary
Mr. Richard “Bill” Brown, age 65, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday morning, November 12, 2003. He was born May 23, 1938 in Manistee, MI to Elwin and Lenore (Domres) Brown and had resided in the Muskegon area since 1979. Bill was a retired Pastor of the Wesleyan Church having served Oakwood Wesleyan Church in Muskegon. He had also been employed at Bennett Pump for 14 years prior to becoming a tool and die maker for Howmet Corporation. He was a member of Muskegon First Wesleyan Church. Bill was married to the former Ruby Putney, who preceded him in death on October 12, 1988. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Lynn Hammond, in 1990, and by his brother, James Brown. On December 16, 1989 he married the former Margaret Selewski and she survives him along with 1 son, Larry (Diane) Brown of Muskegon; 3 step-daughters, Mary (Joe) Bliss and Kathy (Bruce) Toman of Sheridan, MI, and Diane House of Smyra, MI; his son-in-law, Philip Hammond of Grand Rapids 13 grand-children; 9 great-grandchildren and 3 brothers, Robert (Dorothy) Brown and Jack (Pat) Brown of Frankfort, MI and Gerald (Cindy) Brown of Arcadia, MI. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Monday at Edwards – OakGrove Funeral Home (12353 Lynn, Bear Lake, MI) with the Revs. Richard Bennett and Gerald Hyde officiating.
