Richard C. Ball's Obituary
Mr. Richard C. Ball, age 75, passed away, Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Mercy Hospital. He was born February 14, 1933 in New Castle, IN. to Ernest and Pauline (Prophet) Ball and has lived in the Muskegon area since 1950. Mr. Ball was a machinist at Brunswick for 33 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Evanston Avenue Baptist Church where he was active member of Sr. Koinia Class. On August 23, 1952, he married Sarah “Sally” Cooper in Muskegon. He is survived by his wife Sally, 3 children, Rick “Eli” (Mary) Ball of Nashville, TN, Gary (Beth) Ball of DeWitt, MI, David (Leslie) Ball of Kentwood, MI; 7 grandchildren, Brandon Ball, Kane Ball, Mindy (Fred) Render, Tim (Sarah) Ball, Nathaniel Ball, Kristen Ball and Marcia Ball, 1 great-grandson, Caleb Render. He is also survived by his step-mother Mina Ball who raised him since a young child, 3 brothers, Donald (Lois) Ball, Ernest (Barbara) Ball, Thomas (Ginny) Ball, 2 sisters, Madelyn (Gordon) Bollinger, Lana (Jerry) Long, 1 sister-in-law, Beverly Ball, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Harry and Shirley Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Jim Ball. Services will be held, 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Evanston Ave Baptist Church, with Pastor Shane Prewitt and James Cooper officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will take place in Mona View Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to Evanston Ave Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
