Richard "Dick" Thorstenson, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Richard “Dick” Thorstenson, Jr., age 69, died Monday, February 18, 2008 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon May 18, 1938 to Richard and Fern (Wickerink) Thorstenson, Sr., and lived in Lake City, MI for 10 years before returning to the Muskegon area. Dick worked for Better Built Cabinets, and built homes for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved his family including 3 children, Richard Neal (Dawn) Thorstenson and Randy Lee (Barbara) Thorstenson both of Fruitport and Debbie (Cliff) Reedy of Texas; was “Grandpa Dick” to 6 grandchildren, Kenneth, Hunter, Donna, Ryan, David (Marnie) Teeter and Joshua Teeter; step-mother, Goldie Ruth Daul of Coopersville; 3 brothers, Neal (Fran) Thorstenson of Columbus, IN, Dan Thorstenson of Tampa, FL, Benjamin Thorstenson of Huston, TX; 3 sisters, Julie (Les) Dumaw of Muskegon, Melanie Cox of California, Lori (Tom) Potter of Florida; a very special person in his life, Claudette Rainbolt; and several nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters, Bernetta Borgerding and Jan Mullins. SERVICES will be 11 AM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave.(231) 726-5210 with Pastor Dave Cadle officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8 PM Thursday. Burial will take place in Alice Hill Cemetery in Lake City, MI. Memorial Contributions to MAA (Michigan Anglers Association) will be appreciated.
