I knew Richard from high school and recently re-connected with him through Facebook. I feel privledged and blessed to have had the chance to get re-acquainted with him. He was always upbeat and made me smile. He was one of a kind and deserves a special place in Heaven. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. My experience of Richard was indirect through my childhood friendship with his brother, Terry. By reading the previous posts above, it appears to me that Richard went after his dreams and continued to gather many wonderful people in his life. I recall that he was always generous and kind with everyone. He was passionate about living life fully and joyfully. His talents were never hidden but used to help others whenever he could. I don’t know what roads he had traveled on during the last 30 years nor do I know how his journey ended so soon; but, I do know that through the grace of God, he is now experiencing the greatest love possible. I believe he has always been yearning to love and be loved deeply and now with Jesus (in the company of all of the angels and saints) his goal has been accomplished. My prayers are with all of you who will be experiencing the tremendous loss of Richard in your lives. I too recently reconnected with Richard on FB. He always had a kind word to say. He would often brighten my day with a "chat" or an email. God bless you friend and you will be greatly missed. Richard and I started to bond in youth group at St. Francis and the friendship only grew stronger with bonds formed in MS Choir. As the people who will read this know, his kindness, honesty and sense of humor and smile were magnetic! Actually, I gradually developed a crush on him in high school until he informed me I wasn't his type (...must not have liked short girls!?!) But our friendship survived. :)

I am a relative and never really knew Richard until the winter of 2008 when this person kept shoveling my driveway while he was staying with Ann the the girls next door. I finally had the chance to say thank you and while we were talking found out we were related. I only knew his brothers Curt and Craig.
