Richard J. "Dick" Sova's Obituary
Mr. Richard J. “Dick” Sova, age 74, passed away Friday afternoon, February 26, 2010. He was born April 1, 1935 in Muskegon to Frank and Anna (Kielbus) Sova. Dick was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked for J & M Machine Company for 25 years before retiring. Mr. Sova was a member of the Vikings Linne Lodge 57, the Lakeside Veteran’s Club, and also was a little league hockey and baseball coach for Mona Shores. For several years he also worked for Norton Shores Parks and Recreation. On November 22, 1958 he married the former Mary L. Nedervelt in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife of 51 years, Mary; 2 sons, Mark Sova of Muskegon, Derek (Pamela) Sova of Twin Lake; brother, Marlow Sova of Muskegon; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sheryl and Dick Fett; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Sova of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Sova; and brother, Raymond Sova. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 with Rev. Jonathan Rager officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
