Richard J. "Dick" Zinger's Obituary
Mr. Richard J. “Dick” Zinger, age 77, died Thursday evening, November 17, 2005, at his home. He was born January 6, 1928 in Detroit, MI to Edward & Mary (Houseman) Zinger and has resided in Norton Shores since 1971. Dick was retired from National City Bank where he served as Vice-President and Trust Officer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and served as Past President of the Muskegon County Unit of the American Cancer Society; Past-Director of the Muskegon Division of Catholic Social Services and had served on the Board of Education for the Diocese of Grand Rapids.
SURVIVORS include his wife, Sylvia; 5 children, David (Carolyn) Zinger, Diane (Randy) Stewart, Paul (Kathleen) Zinger, Pamela (James) Pedler and Cynthia (Salvatore) Stazzone; 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren. The FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding. He will be entombed at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION: 4-7 PM Sunday and 2-4 & 6-8PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565. ROSARY: 7:30 PM Monday.
