Richard K. Alden's Obituary
Mr. Richard Kenneth Alden, age 63, of Nunica passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at his home. He was born August 28, 1947 in Lansing, Michigan to George K. and Reva (Wescott) Alden.
Richard was retired from North Ottawa Community Hospital where he had been employed as a respiratory therapist. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed gardening. He especially loved spending time with his family and cycling with his granddaughter. Mr. Alden served with the military during the Vietnam War.
On July 9, 1983, he married the former Katherine Pyscynski in Ludington, Michigan. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; 1 daughter, Jamie Rae Alden of Grand Haven; 1 granddaughter, Lillyanna Rose Alden; 1 sister, Marlene Alden of Ludington; 2 nieces, Jennifer and Betsy Bouman; 2 nephews, Kenny and Robert Erzen; a great-niece, Gracie, and a great-nephew, Sean. He was preceded in death by a sister, Diane; a brother, James; and his parents.
Visitation with the family and friends will take place Monday, August 15, from 1 – 3 PM at the VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Full Military Rites will be provided at 3:00 PM by the American Legion Post #28 Honor Guard. Memorials in memory of Richard may be given to the Richard K. Alden Memorial Fund.
