Ricky Lee Steinman Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Ricky Lee Steinman Sr., age 70, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 29, 2024 in Norton Shores, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on June 17, 1954 to Darreld and Barbara (Speck) Steinman. Ricky, a veteran of the United States Marines, was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War, including nine months in Vietnam, assisting with the withdrawal of troops and supplies. After his dedicated service to his country, Ricky worked in Material Transport for Bil-Mar Foods. He was a lifetime member of the Don Rea VFW Post 8846 and the American Legion, passions he carried throughout his life. In his free time, Ricky found joy in building models, hunting, fishing, and remote-control airplanes. On August 9, 1983, Ricky married the former Mary Sprague and she survives him along with four children, Angela (Jamie) Schoonfield, Jennifer (Pedro Bennett) Lewis, Amanda (Steven) Wilson, and Ricky (Megan) Steinman Jr.; four grandchildren, Jeffery, Justin, Beau, and Katie; mother, Barbara Steinman; father-in-law, Darryl Sprague; brothers, Larry Steinman and Harold “Bud” Steinman; special Aunt Dee Versalle; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Darreld Steinman; mother-in-law, Bonnie Sprague; and sister, Carol Steinman. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, January 2, 2025 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
