Rita D. King's Obituary
Rita Diane King, Age 68, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at home in Norton Shores. She was born September 6, 1951 in Muskegon to Peter & Anna (Matecun) Gruszecki and lived in the area all of her life. Rita attended St. Michael’s School and graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central (Class of 1969). Rita loved her family. She cherished her granddaughter Dylann Lennon Brokstad, who was her world. She had a special place in her heart for Golden Retrievers, having eight of them over 42 years. She leaves behind many who were special to her including her daughter, Laura (Erik) Brokstad; granddaughter Dylann Brokstad sister, Patricia Mars; sister-in-law, Jo Elaine Gruszecki; nieces: Suzanne (Joseph) McElvaney, Christine (Matthew) Clark; nephews: Peter (Donelle) Gruszecki, David (Trisha) Gruszecki; grandnieces: Cammie Clark, Heather Keathley, Alandra Coffey, Raya Flater; grandnephews: Connor Clark, Camden Gruszecki, Daren Harned, Timothy Wood; friends, Bob and Deanna Michael; special lifelong friends: Gerri Wittlieff, Connie Gage, Kathy Williams, Margaret Lind, Joann Dobberstein and Heide Longnecker. Loved ones who went on before her include her parents; brother, Peter A. Gruszecki; and grandniece, Alyssa D’Agostino. A private service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Muskegon.
