Rita Mae Lauretti's Obituary
Mrs. Rita Mae Lauretti, age 84, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on March 1, 1935 to Roger and Alma (Bisson) Hallstrand. On May 6, 1961, Rita married Oreste A. Lauretti and they enjoyed 14 wonderful years of marriage prior to his unexpected passing in 1976. She was an active member of the former St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church where she served as bookkeeper and on the luncheon committee. Rita enjoyed walking, gardening, yard work, and puzzles. She will be lovingly missed by her two children, Rosann Lauretti (Clay Park) of Belding and Paul Lauretti of Muskegon; two grandchildren, Shanna (Sead) Avdagic and Samantha Levandowski (Tyler Copeland); and two great-grandchildren, Ariyana and Aydin Avdagic. In addition to her husband, Oreste, Rita was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Strate and Doris Smith; and one brother, Richard Hallstrand. VISITATION will be from 4-7 PM Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with a SCRIPTURE SERVICE held at 4:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider Michigan Parkinson Foundation or Hospice of Michigan.
