Robert D. "Bob" Ahearn's Obituary
Robert D. “Bob” Ahearn, age 72, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at his home. He was born April 2, 1947 in Muskegon to Robert H. and Christine H. (Kammers) Ahearn and was a lifelong resident. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. On August 7, 1971, he married Marcia J. Brown in Muskegon and she survives him. Bob worked at SD Warren Papermill for 34 years and retired in 2005 after 34 years of service. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Marcia J. Ahearn; 2 children, Karen Ahearn, Tony Ahearn; his mother, Christine Ahearn; 2 sisters, Regina “Shireen” Ahearn, Patrician (Bill Hibbs) Umlor; and 1 brother, Mike (Joan) Ahearn. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Ahearn, 1 sister, Kathy Kandelac, and 1 brother, Tom Ahearn. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, January 20, 2020 in Marian Chapel at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St.) with Rev. Charles D. Hall presiding. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Sunday, January 19, 2020 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441 where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Sunday. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to Mass, 10-11 AM Monday.
