I will remember Engineer Bob as long as there are American Flyer RR trains. I tried to talk Bob into really liking these 2 track electric trains, but he remained stubbornly stuck on his Lionel favorites, with those ugly triple tracks. We argued this for years, when I got him down our basement to see mine. And in his Mom's dark mysterious attic where his Lionels lived. I did get Bob to come up to Silver Lake once to hunt ruffed grouse in the deery woods by the Silver Lake channel. My Mom agreed to be the middle person in our line which I could scarcely believe, but Bob talked her into it. We were still minors! And we saw several grouse too, exploding out of bushes the way they do. My Mom's only hunting trip ever. She talked about it for years. Bob was a good friend.
