Robert A. Andrews' Obituary
Mr. Robert A. Andrews, age 88, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at home. He was born November 23, 1929 in Grand Rapids to Harold and Lorraine (Hartman) Andrews. On September 29, 1951 he married Theola Heibel the love of his life.
Robert was a member of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Catholic Church. He was also a proud charter-boat captain of the boat It-Il-Do for many years out of Grand Haven. Other than fishing, he enjoyed hunting and watching his beloved Detroit Tigers. He loved his family, he loved spending time with them, traveling with them, teasing them, and making holidays special for them. His strength and support made him a wonderful role model for all around him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Theola; eight children: Sandra (Scott) Bruce, Sally (Kevin) McFeters, Gary (Trixie) Andrews, Robert Andrews, Nancy (Jeff) Davis, Terri (Kim) Poulin, Mark Andrews, and Patrick (Abby) Andrews; son-in-law, Curt Dykhuizen; twenty four grandchildren: Samantha, Amanda, Summer, Cory, Nathan, Courtnay, Jade, Jourdan, Riley, Camille, Annie, Emily, Sutton, Eden, Bobby, Katie, Erica, Carley, Gabe, Dustin, Jasmine, Dakota, Savannah, Annika; thirty two great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Trapp; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Dykhuizen; two grandchildren: Drew Dykhuizen, Audrey Andrews; brother, Gary Andrews; brother-in-law, Robert Trapp.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Chuck Schwartz officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM Sunday, February 18, 2018 at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave.) with a Rosary at 4:00 PM. Interment will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in memory of Robert may be given to St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church or for something extra special, take a child fishing.
