Robert L. "Bob" Ash's Obituary
Robert L. “Bob” Ash, age 93, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022. He was born June 13, 1929 in Otsego, MI to Jacob and Bina (Spraue) Ash and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served 4 years during the Korean War. He worked 33 years as a project engineer for Howmet Corp. and retired in 1991. Bob loved his family and spending time with his grandkids. He lived a life dedicated to Christ and loved the Lord. Bob attended Bethel Baptist Church. On September 26, 1992, he married Evelyn A. Striker in Muskegon and she survives him along with 7 children, Yvonne “Vonnie” (Robert) Hogg, Wanda (Dennis) Greeno, Vivian Mohammed, Greg (Lori) Striker, Doug (Julie) Striker, Mary (Keith) Kamradt, David (Beth) Ash; 14 grandchildren, Ryan, Stephanie (Stephen), Justin (Jessi), Jeanna (Andy), Jalyssa (Andrew), Abbey, Jonathan, Breanna (Randy), Alexandria (Kyle) Max (Kelly) Linda (Brady), David, Jason, Emily; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Grace Gilroy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leola Ash; 1 daughter, Faythe Striker; 2 granddaughters, Jodi Greeno, Shannon Striker; son-in-law, Dave Mohammed; his parents; 1 brother, Paul Ash; and 1 sister, Helen Norton. A Funeral Service will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church (1066 E. Byron Rd., Norton Shores) with Pastor Doug Vandermolen officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at Oakhurst Cemetery in Whitehall with Military Honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the U.S. Navy Honor Detail. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Bethel Baptist Church Playground Project.
