Robert E. Baribeau's Obituary
Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Baribeau, age 87, passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1935 to Matt and Ruth (Saur) Baribeau in Grand Rapids, MI. Bob married the love of his life, Patricia McCandless, on June 21, 1958 and the two were blessed with 64 years of marriage. Bob and Pat enjoyed spending time up north at their cabin. One of Bob’s passions in life was music and he played the piano in a dance band from a young age. He studied music in college and became a high school and middle school band director to teach the next generation. Bob found great joy in being able to share his music with others at church and Christian camps. Bob loved his family and the time spent with them, especially at their large family gatherings on the holidays as well as the cross-country camping and RV trips around the United States he and Pat took together. Most importantly, Bob was a dedicated Christian whose life was guided by his strong faith. He was a kind, generous man who had the heart of a helper and will be missed by his wife, Pat; children, Todd (Patty) Baribeau, Lesley (Patrick) Glennon, and Marla (Dustin) Bronson; 12 grandchildren, Sarah (Sumon), Robert (Josie), Ben (Hannah), Dan (Samantha), Betty (Nate), Andy, Abby, Ruth, Jonny, Jeremy, Joseph, and Miranda (David); 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nancy Schott; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Larry and Sharyll. A private family burial will be held.
