Robert "Bob" L. Evans' Obituary
Robert “Bob” L. Evans, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He was born on September 4, 1953, to Kenneth Evans and Iris Packard in Greenville, MI. On February 3, 1973, he married the former Sunday Montambo, and they spent 48 loving years together. Bob worked as a Maintenance Technician for Gerber/Nestle.
Putting words to the life that someone lived is difficult. As you reflect on the past it plays out in vivid detail as though you are watching a movie, however trying to create a picture with words to tell the story of someone’s life proves a much harder task. Knowing dad, and his love for movies, he would have enjoyed the thought of his life playing out on the big screen like one the movies he so loved to watch.
So here we go, dad fiercely loved his family, especially mom. Anyone who knew him, or even met him, would be able to tell you that dad lived his life for his family. Spending his free time with us was one of the things that brought him joy. Whether it be camping, going to Cedar Point and riding roller coasters, playing board games, helping us work on our houses or just sitting and talking, dad wanted to be a part of wherever we were.
His grandchildren described him as being kind, loving, and funny (Bob jokes and all). Spending time with grandpa was something that they loved to do.
While dad’s love for his family was as large as it comes, his love for the Lord was even greater. While dad wasn’t a perfect man, and never claimed to be, he spent his days reading the Bible and doing his best to apply what he learned to his life and how he treated others. Dad never met anyone who he didn’t call friend and want to see in Heaven one day with him. He spent his time here on Earth talking to anyone who would listen and even those who wouldn’t about his Lord and Savior. While his words were, at times, clumsy that never stopped him from living out the great commission. His love for others and where their eternity would be spent was always at the top of his list of importance. Dad lived a life that is deserving of the words “well done good and faithful servant.”
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Sunday Evans; children Charity (Jason) Straley, Teresa (Errol) Corlew, Shawn (Sara) Evans, and Brandon Evans. Mother-in-law Norma Montambo.
