Robert Louis "Bob" Danielson's Obituary
1929 – 2020
Robert “Bob” Louis Danielson, age 91, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020, at Riverside Nursing Center. He was born in Muskegon on June 12, 1929, the fourth child to Rudolph Knute and Elizabeth (Leeuw) Danielson. He attended Nelson Grade School and Muskegon High School. In the late fifty’s, during a hymn sing at the Grand Haven waterfront, he met the love of his life Margaret Jane Bol. The two were married on October 9, 1971 in Grand Haven where they have resided ever since.
Bob started delivering the Muskegon Chronicle when he was about eight years old to help supplement the family income. His father had passed away and his mother had six children to raise. At that time, there were no federal assistance programs available that are offered today. When he got older, he went to work at Hasper’s Grocery Store and at eighteen, went to work for Shaw-Walker. He also worked for Walt Plant Appliance Stores delivering TV’s, home appliances and repairing TV’s. After injuring his back, Bob was no longer able to work in the appliance field. He then took the Michigan Real Estate License exams and sold real estate in the local areas from 1970, until 1995 when he retired. Bob enjoyed meeting with some of his friends for “coffee breaks” a few afternoons a week. He also enjoyed his “breakfast meetings” with special friends, Jim Peterson and Charlie Morford.
Bob is survived by his wife, Margaret Danielson; many special nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-laws, Shirley (Raymond) Kuiper and Elaine Brandt-Bartels-Danielson. He was preceded in death by his five siblings: Annabel (William) Rollenhagen, Albert Danielson, Betty (Roger) Weller, Margaret “Peg” (Raymond) Jacobson and Alice (James) Decker.
The funeral for Bob will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417 with Rev.
