Robert Lee "Bob" DeLong Jr.'s Obituary
Robert Lee “Bob” DeLong Jr., age 70, passed away peacefully at home, early Friday, December 30, 2022. He was born March 4, 1952, to Robert and Charlotte (West) DeLong Sr., in Portsmouth, VA. On August 25, 1973, he married Pamela Dyer in Baldwin. Bob had worked in sales for the Grand Haven Tribune; and then he and Pam owned and operated several small businesses. In 2000, they purchased Ladd’s and Co., of Norton Shores, where he loved to talk to people, build relationships and make lasting friendships. He was proud to have brought craft beer to the area through his hard work. Bob was a Believer, a solid athlete in softball, basketball, and bowling. He also enjoyed “finish” woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Pam; their daughter, Kara Duncan (Colby Jenner); grandson, Bryce Duncan (who Bob was so proud of and happy to be with); special, almost daughter, Bonnie McKenzie; longtime neighbors and dear friends, Tom, Jill, and Jodi Eagle; and great-friends and co-workers, Phil Olson, and Gretchen Carlson. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and father and mother-in-law, Charles & Betty Dyer. A FUNERAL SERVICE for Bob will be held 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held two hours prior to the service, at the funeral home.
