Robert "Bob" Dime's Obituary
Mr. Robert “Bob” Dime, age 68, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, December 7, 2013 at home. He was born December 6, 1945 in Grand Haven to Louis and Anna (Macko) Dime.
Bob was a member of St. Patrick’s - St. Anthony Catholic Church, American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 and the Eagles Foe 925. He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. Bob retired from Consumers Energy after working for them for over 35 years, and later went to work at Evergreen Golf Course. He loved spending time with his family and winters in Pine Island, Florida with his wife. Bob enjoyed fishing, boating and being on the golf course, but the Detroit Lions were his favorite.
On April 4, 1970 he married the former Beverly Place in Belmont and she survives him along with four children: Rhonda Dime of Coopersville, Anita (JR) Fox of Grand Haven, Robert, Jr. (Stacy) Dime of Grand Haven and Susan (Joe) McCarthy of Grand Haven; eleven grandchildren: Amber, Dustin, Brittany, Whittney, Ryan, Olivia, Breen, Austin, Mylon, Mackenzie and Christian “Irish”; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, William (Matsue) Dime; and many close aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna; one great-grandson Dylan James; mother-in-law, Lois Rounds.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 12, 2013 at St. Patrick’s - St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rev. Father William Langlois officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will take place in Robinson Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Bob may be given to Mary Seat of Wisdom – St. Mary’s School Building Campaign Fund, St. Patricks – St. Anthony Facilities Expansion Project Fund, or American Cancer Association.
