Robert W. Doctor's Obituary
Robert W. Doctor, age 73, passed away February 16, 2020 at home after a long illness. He was born on March 17, 1946 to Frank and Ruth (Weesies) Doctor in Muskegon. Bob was a member of Unity Reformed Church. He had a great passion for the outdoors - fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his family at the cabin. On November 25, 1966 he married the former Henrietta VanEck and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include his loving wife, two sons, Thomas (Jeanine) Doctor and Eric (Terra) Doctor; 5 grandchildren; Lauryn, Aryssa, Landon, Peyton and Owen; brothers, Roger (Sheri) Doctor, Kenneth (Wilma) Doctor; sisters-in-law, Jane Spoelman and Nell VanDyke; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Donna (Larry) Mayette. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 20, 2020 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. David Celeskey officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held 5PM to 8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS can be directed to Unity Reformed Church or Kindred Hospice. Burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport.
