Robert "Don" Bergren's Obituary
Robert “Don” D. Bergren, age 78, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018. He was born on December 15, 1940 to Robert E. and Theda (Miller) Bergren in Muskegon. Don was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for several years at Dresser Industries, and then transitioned to working for Consumer’s Energy at the B.C. Cobb Plant where he worked for 25 years until his retirement in 2001. Don loved boating and had a passion for Hot Rods; he enjoyed building cars and going to car shows. His greatest love in his life was his family, especially his grandchildren. On September 24, 1966 he married the love of his life, the former Darlene Timmons, she survives him. Other survivors include, his daughter, Melissa (Bruce) Lewallen; grandchildren, Lauren and Max; brother, Edward (Mary) Bergren; and sister, Pamela (Ken) Buckoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Timothy and Renee Bergren. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Don will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 at 3:00 PM, with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. For a more lasting memory, donations in Don’s name can be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
