Robert L. "Bob" Egeler's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Lee Egeler, age 80, decided that he was a bit tired and was ready to pass out of this world on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 after a battle with many illnesses.
Bob spent most of his life as a grocer in the Muskegon area. He took great pride in offering fair prices in a small environment.
He enjoyed fishing on the North Branch of the White River, the Pere Marquette River, and numerous other streams and lakes. He was a closet fishing guide and believed that steelhead feared him. Nothing made him happier than showing you where the fish were.
The Book of Hoyle had nothing on Bob. Want to learn cribbage? He would type up all the rules for you…on an Excel Spreadsheet, probably in all caps. A highlight of his life was his monthly card games with friends.
Bob is survived by children: Susan (Jeff) McDonald, Rob (Angie) Egeler, Patty (Troy) Dowd, Roger (Robyn) Egeler, and Nicole Feister; grandchildren: Abby, Micah, Caelum, Liam, and Rivers; valued ex-wives: Helen Newmyer and Julie Egeler; siblings: Betty Dault and Barb Rose; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents: Agnes Korson and Leonard Egeler; daughter, Brooke Feister; granddaughter, Brooklyn Daniels; and siblings: Leonard Egeler Jr., Richard Egeler, Don Egeler, Fred Egeler, Al Egeler, and Beverly Haney.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, August 19, 2022 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100.
MEMORIALS to the American Lung Association will be appreciated. Share memories with the family at their online Guest Book at www.sytsemafh.com
