Robert C. "Bob" Elder Jr.'s Obituary
Robert C. “Bob” Elder Jr., age 65, passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 24, 2022, at home. He was born December 3, 1956, to Robert and Nancy (Hall) Elder Sr., in Corona, CA. He graduated from Elkhart central high school class of 1975. In the early 90’s, Bob made his way to Muskegon, Michigan which he has called home ever since. He was a motivated and hardworking man, who was a dedicated business owner of Great Lakes Automatic Pool Covers. Bob owned and operated his company for 30 years, before retiring in 2021. Bob enjoyed many things: fishing, pressing his luck at the casino, all things around racing cars and rooting for his Denver Broncos and Ohio Buckeyes! He had a passion for helping others pursue and achieve a successful and fulfilling life. In 1996, he married the love of his life, Cynthia “Cindy” Overhulser in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 26 years full of love, laughter and many adventures. He and Cindy had an unconditional love for Puerto Vallarta and the people of Mexico, especially those in the Mismaloya village. Bob will always be remembered as a generous and loving man, who was wise beyond his years. He was someone who easily flourished at making others happy and content even during his difficult times. He was the best husband, a loving father, grandfather, amazing sibling, and dear friend to many. Bob will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Elder; 6 children, Chelsea (Tony) Ellis, Katie (Logan) Laperriere, Laura (Tony) Pellet, Brooke (Thomas) Vanderwel, Jamie (Sarah) Eldridge and Daniel Eldridge; 5 grandchildren, Breanna, Stella, Cora, Mason, Vincent and baby Radness on the way; 3 brothers, James (Janet) Elder, Charles (Kim) Elder and Andrew Elder; and sister, Gini Ceresola. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Sanders; and brother-in-law, Tracy Ceresola. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
