Mr. Robert Raymond Fairris' Obituary
Mr. Robert Raymond Fairris, age 67, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Bob was born August 27, 1948 to James and Betty (Barr) Fairris in Muskegon. On September 25, 1992 he married the former Veronica J. Fraser. Bob owned and operated a taxidermy service for 25 years before being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He was a very proud veteran of the U.S. Army who helped maintain the Veterans Memorial Park. He recently received a quilt from the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Bob was former President and Secretary of the Michigan Trappers Association where he also received a lifetime achievement award. Bob loved the outdoors and had done lots of work for the DNR. He was a very caring, and concerned person who will be deeply missed by his wife of 23 years, Veronica; his children, Brooke (Patrick) Wright, Amanda Fairris, Tricia (Wylie) Hale and Brett Benson; his mother, Betty; 11 grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Fairris; sister, Patricia Bowler; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father and brother, James. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 13, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231 798-1100 with Full Military Rites under the auspices of the VFW Muskegon County Council. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (10-11am). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
