Robert J. Goldsborough's Obituary
Robert Jack Goldsborough, age 81, passed away at his home on Friday morning, June 9, 2017, with his family by his side. Bob was born January 3, 1936 in Muskegon to Charles and Eoma (Joslin) Goldsborough; and had resided in the area most of his life. He had been a Core Grinder at CWC Foundry for 33 years, prior to his retirement in 1995. Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On April 27, 1957, he married the former Carol Ann Miller; and together celebrated 60 years of marriage. Bob was an avid walker, especially enjoying the shores of Lake Michigan. He was a member at Chase Hammond Golf Course, where he enjoyed playing with his son Ray. He also enjoyed hunting; and was a member of the Holton Gun and Bow Club, the Holton American Legion. He exercised at Tanglewood, served on the CWC Credit Union Board of Directors and loved to travel, often to a casino. Bob took great pride in his home, handling all maintenance and fix-ups himself, until he was no longer able, just a short time ago. SURVIVOR’S include his wife, Carol; 4 children, Marilynn Grinwis of Norton Shores, Nancy (Dave) Luter of Carmel IN, Ray Goldsborough of Fruitport and Lisa (Ron) Crabtree, also of Norton Shores; 7 grandchildren, Katlin, Jacob, Chelsea, Angie, Ashley, Zachary, Cole and great-grandson, Athrun Luter. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Carol and Shirley. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231-798-1100), with Pastor Matthew Eenigenburg officiating. VISITATION with Bob’s family will be 5:00PM – 7:00PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
