Mr. Robert E. Hickel's Obituary
Mr. Robert E. Hickel, 91, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Muskegon. He was born May 18, 1922 in Roy, New Mexico to Harvey and Ada (Reed) Hickel, and lived almost all of his life in the Muskegon area. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, had worked at Kaydon for 26 years before retiring, and previously worked at Muskegon Screw Works for 23 years. He is survived by his longtime sweetheart, Judy Sumner; his best buddy, Gary Sumner; his special son, Carlton Hamstra; his special family, Danny, Tina, Nic and Nate Peterson; his sister, Josey Viola “Vi” Six; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey; and 2 sisters, Lorraine and Ica. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 4, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI, 49444, (231) 798-1100 with Rev. Jan Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Mona View Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be 1 hour prior to the service.
