Robert Earl Hillard's Obituary
Robert Earl Hillard, age 97, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Robert was born in Coopersville, MI on March 17, 1927 to Harry and Mary (Rousell) Hillard. He was a lifelong resident of the Muskegon area except when he served in the Army at the end of World War II. Robert was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 324 union throughout his career with Reliable Truck & Crane. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of thirty years, Colleen (McCully), and later spouses Charlotte and Villena, as well as his parents and siblings, Florence, Ray, Nettie, Ralph, and Dolly. He will be missed by sons, Rocky (Sue), Martin (Cathy), daughter, Sharon (Joel) Palmer, and grandchildren, Kurt (Sherry), Clint (Chelsi), and Colleen, as well as great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 13, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Rev. Clint Abbott officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery.
