Robert H. Holmes' Obituary
Robert Harvey Holmes, age 74, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Friday, July 14, 2023. Bob was born in Muskegon on November 27, 1948, to Joseph and Margaret (Wolgat) Holmes. He graduated from Muskegon High School, and then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force for some years, two of which were spent with the Thunderbirds Squadron. Bob enjoyed playing and watching golf, and also downhill and water skiing. He liked all kinds of music and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Bob was a fun spirited individual who will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Kristin (Adam) Peterson; three grandchildren: Lux, Tommy, and Jack Peterson; sister, Mary (Mark) Sorensen; niece: Stacey (Hunter) Fendley; nephew: Troy (Gina) Brown; and many cousins and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Margaret Holmes; sister, Marge Gum; and his brother in-law, Donnie Gum. A MEMORIAL MASS will be taking place for Robert at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1716 Sixth St. Muskegon, MI 49441, with VISITATION taking place an hour prior. Following the service, he will be buried at Fort Custer National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be taking place for Robert from 6:00-9:00 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at The Polish Falcons Club, 1014 W Hackley Ave, Muskegon, MI 49441.
