Mr. Robert L. Hommes' Obituary
Robert L. Hommes, 80, passed away Monday evening, February 23, 2015 in Muskegon. Bob was born April 28, 1934 to Andrew and Anna (Katt) Hommes in Muskegon, and lived all of his life there before moving to Spring Lake. He was employed at Reid Tool Supply Company for 42 years, retiring as President in 1997. Bob was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church, had been part of a bowling league for over 40 years, and had coached and played baseball for many years. In his later years he enjoyed golfing and spending time at his summer home in Bear Lake, MI. He had been married for 23 years to Sandra (Scholtens), the mother of his children. Bob was a generous, loyal and loving husband, father, and grandpa. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, JoAnn (Konesko) Hommes; 3 daughters, Lynne (Scott) Grinwis of Ada, Jill (Shawn) MacDougall of Rockford, Kathy (Tim) Tabor of Spring Lake; 2 step-children, Diane (Keith) Flatt, Steven Brilliant; 7 grandchildren, Eric and Adam Grinwis, Patrick and Evan MacDougall, Ann, Stephanie and Robert Thomas Tabor; 1 brother, Jerry (Lynne) Hommes of Florida. The funeral service for Bob will be held at 1:00 PM Friday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday evening.
