Robert C. "Bob" Hoos' Obituary
Robert C. Hoos, age 99, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at The Hume Home in Muskegon. He was born February 23, 1920 in Muskegon to Carl E. and Magdelene C. (Grilloit) Hoos and lived his entire life in Muskegon. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard Infantry. Robert worked as an aircraft engine inspector for Teledyne Continental Motors Corp. and retired after 44 years of service. He married Rose Ann Doza in 1946 in Muskegon and she preceded him in death in 1978. He later married Patsy A. Zeckzer in 1981 and she preceded him in death in 2012. Robert was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Survivors include a step-son, Brent Bonnett of Muskegon; 1 brother, Richard H. (Eileen) Hoos of Montague; and 2 sisters, Maxine M. Kolean of Spring Hill, FL, and Rita M. Horan of Norton Shores; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Phillip E. Hoos, and 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Kolean and Ralph Horan. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 Clay Ave.) with Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum presiding. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Friday at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass, 12-1 PM Saturday at the church. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Memorial Fund.
