Robert Allan Hundersmarck Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Robert Allan Hundersmarck Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 30, 2021. He was born in Muskegon on July 6, 1934 to Fred and Gladys (Howe) Hundersmarck. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War. He graduated from Michigan State University and worked as an engineer at several local businesses, most notably Neway and Cannon, prior to his retirement in 2003. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Grand Haven American Legion, and served as a chairman of Manufacturing Engineers. Bob was an avid reader and enjoyed constructing model airplanes. He was active coaching his boys football and baseball teams when they were younger, and was the co-founder of the Beach Football Program over 50 years ago. He married the former Charlotte Anderson in 1956 and she preceded him in death in 2002. He then married the former Donna Denslow-McCann in Muskegon on November 1, 2003 and they enjoyed 17 years together. Donna survives him along with three sons, Robert (Lena) Hundersmarck Jr., Greg (Debbie) Hundersmarck, and Steve (Lynn) Hundersmarck; five stepchildren, Martin McCann, Carl (Kim) McCann, Dana (Clark) Winters, Joe (Lori Girard) McCann, and Robert (Brenda Horton) McCann; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, and his sister, Louise TerBorg. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be CELEBRATED 11:00 AM Thursday, May 6, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken, Muskegon, MI 49441). VISITATION with his family will be one hour prior to his mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Harbor Hospice Foundation or St. Francis Church.
