Robert Lee Jones' Obituary
Robert Lee Jones, Sr., age 91, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at The Hallstrom Castle Assisted Living Center. He was born April 16, 1931 in Muskegon to Willard F. and Genevieve (Welcome) Jones. On July 22, 1950, he married Donna Jean Dove in Grand Haven and she preceded him in death on July 16, 1999. Robert worked 40 years for United Oil Company and retired as a regional manager in 1989. In 1999, he began working for Menards and continued well into his 80’s retiring in 2013. He loved his job and co-workers at Menards. Robert enjoyed boating, working in the garage and gardening. Survivors include 5 children, Robert Jr. (Becky) Jones, Michael (Pablo Arontes) Jones, Deb (Gary) Tibbe, Kathy Fohlbrook, Willard (LaiLani) Jones III; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren including Damien Lee Jones who was very close to his grandfather and helped in many ways at the end of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; 1 daughter-in-law, Susan Jones; 1 grandson, Aaron Jones; 1 great-grandson, Xander White; his parents; and 1 brother, Willard Jones. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
