Robert L. "Bob" Kelley's Obituary
Robert Lloyd Kelley passed away July 4, 2021. He was born April 20, 1926 to Lloyd and Anna Kelley of Mears. He served in the US Army in World War II in Italy. He married Patricia Basch on December 3, 1948. He worked as a guard at the S.D. Warren paper mill in Muskegon until retiring in Hart in 1989. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, his sense of humor and quick wit, and his love of his family and of his pets.
He is survived by his children, Martha Jeanne (William) Nelson, Judy (Robert) Yagerlener, Michael (Deb Gianetti) Kelley, and Robert (Susan) Kelley, and by ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia on January 1, 2021, his parents, his sister Cora (Ken) Wygant, and his great-granddaughter Ashlee Serene. A special thanks to the staff at Oceana County Medical Care Facility for so many years of loving care for Robert.
In accordance with last wishes of both Robert and Patricia, no service will be held. Instead, there will be a joint Celebration of Life held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 2-4:00 PM in the Family Center at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Military Rites will be held promptly at 2:00PM. Memorial Contributions in Robert’s honor can be made direct to the Muskegon Humane Society.
