Robert Kleyn's Obituary
Mr. Robert Kleyn, age 79, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 17, 1942 to Dewey and Janet (Smalligan) and worked for his family celery farms in Muskegon. Robert married Karen (Vogelsong) on September 12, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Karen Kleyn; children, Melvin Vogelsong, Bernie (Stacey) Vogelsong Sr., Sam (Audrey) Vogelsong, Michelle (Paul) Hutchins, Linda (Darren) Snider, and Melissa (Brian) Genson; grandchildren, Derek (Racheal) Vogelsong, Bernie (Jill) Vogelsong Jr., Krystal (Kurt) Carpenter, Carter (Jessie) Evans, Joshua (Stephanie) Maue, Nathaniel (Grace Gabalis) Maue, Branden (Alex Evans) Maue, Ashley (Kyle Wiedemann) Maue, and Caleb Errgang; several great-grandchildren including special great-grandchildren, Bane and Leela Maue; sister, Carol (Robert) Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Carl Lafay. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Don, Dirk, Pete, Marie, Lucille, and Louie; and special nephew, Paul Kleyn. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Real Friend Bible Church (2065 W. Giles Rd., North Muskegon, MI 49445) with Pastor Josh Chittenden officiating. VISITATION with his family will be one hour prior to his service at church. MEMORIALS in memory of Robert may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
