Jon Monte Bell
Never a dull moment, Bob and I were classmates and good friends at St Joe's in Muskegon. The "Spartans". He was very talented and was a great friend to all of us. One of my favorite memories is from high school when he was the lead singer in a band, can't remember if it was the aardvarks, poor boys pride or one of those. Anyway they were In the battle of the bands and competing at the LC Walker arena. A bunch of us went down to see him. The band was playing Donovan's "Season of the Witch" and Bob absolutely nailed It! He didn't realize how good he was, because he was really a very fun, gregarious, yet humble guy.
I moved away after high school but my mom and dad stll lived there and Bob always took time to talk to my mom and ask how she and everyone was doing.
Bob was a true gentleman, courageous yet kind. We had some wild times, that were the norm for era, and believe me they were a lot of fun. I think I'll pop on that old Donovan song and "pick up every stitch" with Bob one more time ... for the road.
God bless you my friend, thanks for the great memories.
