Robert M. Lawrence's Obituary
Mr. Robert M. Lawrence, age 89, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 with his family by his side. Bob was born on July 6, 1930 to Leonard and Ebba (Muskovin) Lawrence in Muskegon. He enlisted into the USAF in 1947 during the German OCC. Bob continued to proudly serve his country for the next 24 years. He retired as a SMSgt and returned to his hometown of Muskegon in 1972. He worked at CWC for the next ten years and eventually moved to Hesperia, MI where he lived for the past 39 years. Bob was a member of the Air Force (AACS) Alumni Association and had attended several reunions across the country, reuniting with friends who had served alongside him 70 years ago. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 411 in Hesperia, MI. Bob looked forward to and enjoyed travelling to Indianapolis and Dallas to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by his daughter, Charlotte (Fred) Burdette; son, Dan Lawrence; step-sons, Mike Burrell and Mark (Cindy) Burrell; grandchildren, Gregory (Michael) Singleton, Sarah (Daniel) Petersen, Britany (Ty) Henrich, Chad (Julie) Burrell, Erik and Daniel Burrell, Brody (Ann) Burrell, Donna (Andrew) DeLonge; and twelve great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Patty Lawrence; sons, Bobby and Billy Lawrence; brother, Ted Lawrence; sisters, Bonnie Faino and Carol Splitstone; and the mother of his children, Lottie Lawrence. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 26 at 3PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service, from 2-3PM.
