Dr. Robert Wesley Lenz's Obituary
Dr. Robert W. Lenz, age 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on February 20, 1936, to Joseph and Lydia (Riker) Lenz. Bob received his Master of Religious Education from Cornerstone University and his Doctor of Missiology from Trinity Christian College. He married the former Shirley Mooney on August 28, 1959, and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Together, Bob and Shirley served 37 years in missions with The Evangelical Alliance Mission. They spent most of that time in Indonesia, with one year in the Philippines and the last 10 years as a state-side mission representative. After moving back to Norton Shores, Bob served part time as Pastor of Missions for Calvary Church. He also spent many years volunteering as Chaplain for both Hackley Hospital and Harbor Hospice. Bob was a voracious reader and an avid University of Michigan sports fan. He was a dedicated family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife Shirley; their three children, Becci (Tim) Fullmer, Sharon (Don) Morris and Dan (Michelle) Lenz; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Lenz. A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Shores Community Church, 3800 Lake Harbor Road, Norton Shores, MI.
