Robert C. Lewandoski's Obituary
Mr. Robert Charles Lewandoski, age 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his home following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob was born on November 6, 1949 to Charles and Margaret (Jacobitz) Lewandoski in Grand Rapids, MI. A lifelong resident of the area, Bob worked his entire 42-year career at Cole’s Quality Foods, first as a baker and eventually working his way up to Vice President of Operations before retiring in 2005. It was during his time on the baking line that he met the former Carol Fink and the two were married on December 23, 1976. Bob and Carol spent most winter months in Florida where Bob could be found fishing either out on the boat or off a dock. Bob too had a profound love for his family, enjoying time in the out of doors, hunting and fishing throughout Michigan, watching sports and cheering on his alma mater Muskegon Catholic Central, and hunting with his sons throughout the United States and Canada. Bob was a ‘go getter’ – thoroughly enjoying life to its fullest and one never found to be sitting still. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Carol; sons, Jeremy “Jamie” Gerrans and Jeff (Jamie) Lewandoski; grandchildren, Morgan Gerrans and Katie (James) Larsen, Jace Lewandoski, and Matthew Lewandoski; great-granddaughter, Navy Lew Larsen; siblings, Mary Jo (Jerry) McCurry, Julie (Brad) Dagen, Larry (Joyce) Lewandoski, Frank (Tammy) Lewandoski, Nancy Schindlbeck, and Matt (Lynn) Lewandoski; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann & Rodney Fidler; and brother-in-law, Orrie Schindlbeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, June 29 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken St., Norton Shores, MI 49441 with Fr. Charles Hall presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00AM. You may join the family for The Rosary at 9:45AM. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
