Robert Ludwig's Obituary
Bob graced this earth for 96 years and passed into God’s arms on August 26, 2024 after a brief illness. He and his wife, the former Leona DeRose, were married seventy years. They were blessed with three children, Nick (Julie), Mary, and Jane who survive him along with several nieces and nephews. Bob enjoyed traveling and golfing with his wife. He was a well-known athlete, especially in baseball, at Muskegon High School, Michigan State University, and in the semi-pros, setting records in pitching and batting.
Bob earned his Master’s Degree in Vocational Arts, and was a teacher, and then in Administration with the Muskegon Public Schools System for over 42 years. Bob was the repairer and builder of all things, and an accomplished wood-worker and furniture maker. In his later years, Bob could be found “tinkering” in his workshop, reading, or painting. A more honest, hardworking, and faithful provider for his family could not be found.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Frank (Patricia) Ludwig, son-in-law, Bob Morris, and many dear friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Harbor Hospice and Poppen House staff for their outstanding care and compassion during this difficult time.
In his memory, donations may be made to the Rescue Mission or Charity of Choice.
According to his wishes, no funeral or memorial service will take place.
