Robert G. Luetjen's Obituary
Robert G. Luetjen, age 99, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He was born August 13, 1917 in Muskegon, MI to Dietrich and Hilda (Braun) Luetjen. Bob was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran during WWII, where he worked on the Norden bombsight in France. He worked 31 years for Teledyne Continental Motors prior to his retirement in 1981. On January 31, 1948, he married the former Jeannette Maitland in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2002. Bob was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, enjoyed reading, gardening, and bowling. SURVIVORS include his daughter, Evelyn D. Peterson; 4 grandchildren: Erik R. (Christine) Peterson, Matthew J. (Laura) Peterson, Steven J. (Nikki) Peterson, Lisa M. Peterson; 4 great-grandchildren: Logan, Lucas, Leo, and Iris. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 4, 2017 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210 with Pastor Timothy J. Winkel officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Harbor Hospice or the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
