Robert L. Pulsifer's Obituary
Mr. Robert L. Pulsifer, age 88 passed away at home on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. He as born on October 16, 1925 to George and Hazel (Linstrom) Pulsifer in Muskegon. He served his country in the US Army during WWII and was a purple-heart recipient. He worked production at Continental Motors for 40 years. He was a long-time member of Samuel Lutheran Church and served on both council and property committee. He also ran the sound system at church for many years. Bob was an active amateur radio operator and member of the Muskegon Area Amateur Radio Council. He was also a life member of the TTCM, the Happy Wanderers Chapter and was currently serving as president. In later years, Bob joined the honor guard with the American Legion Post #9. He would say, “Every person that served our country in the military deserves our respect with a military service.” On September 9, 1950 he married Katherine Hemeren and she preceded him in death in 2005. He is survived by his son, David Pulsifer; 2 daughters, Mary (Mark) Davis & Karen (Michael) Helm; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Jared Wesley, Zachary Pulsifer, Samantha, Kristina & Jessica Helm; great-grandchild, Damien Helm; daughter-in-law, Nena Pulsifer; brother, Richard (Joyce) Pulsifer, sisters, Ruth Heimann and Leona Hershberger along with many nieces & nephews. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Pulsifer and his granddaughter, Katherine "Katie" Davis. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Samuel Lutheran Church (540 Houston) with Pastor Marcy Miller officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held 6-8 PM on Friday at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 and one hour prior at church. MEMORIALS to Samuel Lutheran Church or the American Legion Post #9 would be appreciated. BURIAL will take place at Lakeside Cemetery.
