Robert W. Russell's Obituary
Mr. Robert Wayne Russell, age 63, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with ESRD. He was born in Muskegon on May 21, 1953 to Robert and Pauline (DeWispelaere) Russell. Bob had worked as a maintenance supervisor at Cascade Engineering and as a Network Engineer at Haworth before he had to retire because of his illness. After his diagnosis, Bob started an eBay business that he could work at from home. He loved to travel and enjoyed spending his winters in Florida. He also enjoyed watching movies and collecting knives. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, and in his younger days, was involved with competitive shooting and bass fishing tournaments. On September 20, 1997, Bob married the former Ann Patricia Barrie in North Muskegon and she survives him along with two children, Carl (Jamie L.) Russell and Jamie M. Russell; eight grandchildren, Caleb Magner, Jaida, Jordyn, Caden, and Eric Russell, Makayla, Dylan, and Christian Rehkopf; his mother, Pauline Russell; two brothers, David (Barb) Russell and Kevin (Gail) Russell; two sisters-in-law, Sue (Tino) Figueroa and Carol Briney; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and special friends. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday, June 11, 2016 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210 with Pastor David Russell officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service. MEMORIALS may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Bob was diagnosed with ESRD over 11 years ago. He put his trust and faith in his Lord, doctors and family. His family would like give a special thanks to Dr. Twu, Dr. L. Mallon, Dr. Downer, the medical staff at Davita, Mercy Hospital, Select Specialty and Mary Free Bed - Muskegon.
