Robert E. "Bob" Schlichting's Obituary
Mr. Robert E. “Bob” Schlichting, Sr., age 78, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 31, 1942 to Eugene and Catherine Schlichting. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 – 1969. Bob was best known for his love for his family and the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bears. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Catherine. He is survived by his children: Cathleen (Robert) Dayton, Christine (Tony) Ulbert, Carin Schlichting, and Robert (Marcy) Schlichting, Jr.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, James (Linda) Schlichting; niece, Heidi (Joe) Edgecomb; and nephew, Marc (Emily) Schlichting. A graveside service and burial will take place at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, IL at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
