Mr. Robert Andrew Semelbauer's Obituary
Mr. Robert Andrew “Bob” “Red” Semelbauer, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012. He was born in Muskegon on August 10, 1928 to Andrew and Marie (Roberts) Semelbauer. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in WWII. He had worked as a pipe fitter at CWC Textron before retiring in 1989, and was as a self-employed plumber and handyman for many years before injuring himself three years ago. Bob loved to fish, travel, camp, and most of all, work. On April 23, 1949, Bob married the former Virginia Reed in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2010. He is survived by 7 children, Brad (Kris) Semelbauer, Ronnie (Kathy) Semelbauer, Dianne Semelbauer, Kathy Semelbauer, Bobby (Tonya) Semelbauer, Ginger (Rocky) Grenell, and Jeannie (Steve) Carlton; 34 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Richard Semelbauer. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; 2 grandsons, Brent and Brad Semelbauer; and his dog and best friend, Benji. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2012 at New Beginnings Church (200 S. Division St., Whitehall, MI 49461) with Pastor Donna Rick officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to American Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated.
