Rev. Robert Andrew Shackles' Obituary
Rev. Robert Andrew Shackles, age 87, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Pennsylvania on September 30, 1929. Bob received his Doctorate from Berkeley Divinity School. He officiated at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for 20 years before retiring in 1992. Bob was active in his community and enjoyed reading, writing, wood working and golf. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris (Casterline) Shackles; two children, Cynthia Powell and Thomas (Becki) Shackles; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Shackles; his mother, Ruth Shackles; son-in-law, Kenneth Powell; two sisters, Nancy and Mariam and one brother, Al. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 26, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Fr. Patrick Finn presiding. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Bob’s memory may be directed to the Harbor Hospice Foundation.
