Robert D. Shavalier's Obituary
Robert “Bob†“Big Shav†Shavalier age 78, of Fruitport died, Friday, May 28, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on August 2, 1931 in Sullivan Township to the late John and Sarah (Chapin) Shavalier. He married the former Marilyn O’Brien on January 29, 1954. He was the proud owner of Shavalier Auto Parts with his wife and son. Bob loved his business, he also enjoyed antique bottle hunting, picking blackberries out in the salvage yard, but first of all was his family he loved them most.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn. 1 Son: Darwin Shavalier of Muskegon, 2 granddaughters: Samantha and Shelby Shavalier of Muskegon and adopted daughter: Sarah Shavalier of Fruitport, Great grandsons: Travis Buchner, Scott Goerbig and baby Easton Robert Garrett. 1 sister: Donna Jean Best of Fruitport. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Bob was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a Daughter: Darlene.
Funeral Services for Robert Shavalier will be conducted on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at 11:00am at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna with Rev. Dan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Sullivan Township Cemetery.
The family will be at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00pm to receive friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Jibson Immanuel Baptist Church building fund.
