Mr. Robert L. Shirley's Obituary
Mr. Robert L. “Bob” Shirley, age 81, passed away Sunday evening, October 5, 2014. He was born January 11, 1933 in Fairview Park, OH to Fred and Jessie (Nale) Shirley. Bob received his Doctorate of Chemistry from Ohio State University and worked in the chemical industry for many years before purchasing Teck-Tool Supply Company, Inc., which he had owned and operated since 1986. On December 27, 1955 he married Miriam Strouse in East Aurora, NY and she survives him along with 3 children: John “Andy” Shirley of Indianapolis, IN, Brian K. Shirley of N. Muskegon, Ruth (fiancé, Dean Glore) Bradfield of Norton Shores; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Shirley of Belleville, MI; sister, Shirley (Howard) Kyser of Grandville; sister-in-law, Mary Shirley of S. Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Fred Shirley, Jr. and Wayne Shirley. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Calvary Bible Church, 4617 Grand Haven Rd., with Pastor Ed Arndt officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. MEMORIALS to Calvary Bible Church will be appreciated.
